Official 2020 AP Stats Exam College Board Lesson #6 Analyzing One Variable Data 4_13_2020
Hi all!

take-aways and teacher comments:

- Lessons: April 6-10: Units 6-7 taught first because many schools either didn’t get to these entirely or at all (we did get through most of this); April 13-May 1: Units 1-5
- AP Stats Exam Friday May 22 from 2-2:45 EST
- All resources available at Statsmedic.com/youtube
- If you need a device take the Exam go to cb.org/tech
Last Night’s homework:
- Compare this to our notes chart and example on pg. 6 in the Chapter 9-1 notes
Example “Which AP Class has a higher GPA?”:
- Questions 1-4 is SOCS or CUSS and BS (use Context at least one time during the process) when describing a distribution
- Median and IQR go together with skewed distributions and Mean and SD go together with symmetrical distributions
- Review the 1.5(IQR) rule for outliers, nice review
- Notice that you also use SOCS for comparing a distribution, for this you can just state “center” (you do not have to pick a type of center)
- #6 is a reference to a 2 Sample t-test from section 10-2.
Example of a two way table for “Course and College
Plans”:
- Segmented Bar Graphs should have a key
- #4 highlights how each category should be compared to be “safe” for full credit
- Notice the clever way the LW converts the SBG to a Mosaic Plot to show the difference in sample sizes for the two groups
- #6 Chi Square Test (Chapter 11) is NOT on the 2020 AP Exam
Try the check your understanding homework that he gives at
the end for Tuesday’s lesson if you can.
Please email me any time with any question, comments, thoughts.
Take care!!
