FOR THOSE "THINKING ABOUT" OPTING OUT OF THE 2020 AP STATS EXAM
“AP Teachers and Counselors,
I have had a few communications with some of you and our students who are enrolled in AP exams about opting out of their exams. The process that the College Board has for students to opt out of their exams is detailed as follows:
Student Exam Decisions
Students don’t need to communicate whether they plan to take the
exam before the exam administration, and there’s no action
required of the AP coordinator if a student decides not to take an exam that
was ordered for them.
If
a student doesn’t take an online exam, the exam will be removed from your final
invoice. We encourage students to wait until closer to the exam date to decide
whether they will take the exam.
I thought that this may help if any of you
encounter questions about dropping exams. I am very happy to answer any
questions students or parents have also. While I understand that students
may want to opt out of their exams during the pandemic, we should do everything we can to encourage them
to stay enrolled in their exams. The College Board is also allowing
students to use their books and notes on exams, according to their
website. I hope everyone is remaining safe and healthy!” 😊
Please email me with questions, comments, thoughts at any time!
Take care!!!
