AP Stats Exam Update from College Board's Trevor Packer 4_14_2020

Hello everyone!

(Parents just an FYI, as always)

Here is a brief update that I wanted to share with you from a College Board 2020 Exam webcast I viewed last night.

ALL OF THIS WILL BE EXPLAINED THROUGHLY ON APRIL 28th IN A POWERPOINT AND VIDEO GIVEN TO US FROM CB.  THIS IS JUST A “HEADS-UP” JUST TO GIVE US AN IDEA OF WHAT’S IN STORE FOR THE 2020 AP STATS EXAM.

AP Math (Stats) Webcast 4_14_2020 take-ways:

  • Attached to a recent email is the specific format of the AP Exam: 2 FRQs.  There is no #6 type investigative task (“hard” FRQ question) on this exam! 😊
  • I created relevant FRQs problem set (CB units 1-7 / TPS Chapters 1-10 focus only) for you if you’d like extra practice in your AP Stats College Board Question Bank titled 2020 Stats Exam FRQ Practice. This is unlocked indefinitely.  There are many (167) FRQs in this problem set, it may take a while to load . Do not be overwhelmed or feel that you need to do all of these! You can just randomly pick a few to do per week (3-5 FRQs/week maybe?) if you’re studying for this exam to get some extra practice to get a feel for the style of the questions 😊
  • Date for the 2020 AP Stats Exam: Friday, May 22 @ 2:00PM.  There is a make-up date (if you want to take it later) for the 2020 AP Stats EXAM: Thursday, June 4 @ 4:00PM.  CB is recommending that you use this make-up date as a back-up plan if something goes wrong on the 5/22 exam.  An electronic will be sent to you on a date closer to actual exam.  I am told that that you will automatically be given a ticket for the make-up exam if you miss the originally scheduled exam on 5/22.
  • April 27 – May 11 is designated as “practice/study time” by CB.  Hence many things will occur that week including practicing uploading materials, study tips, and much, much more!!

Remember:  our BEST RESOURCE in preparation for this exam is what I’ve been sending to you each day M-F over that last few weeks:

  • Lessons: April 6-10: Units 6-7 taught first because many schools either didn’t get to these entirely or at all (we did get through most of this); April 13-May 1: Units 1-5

As always, please email me with any questions, comments, thoughts as we figure out all of this stuff TOGETHER.

Thank you.

Take Care!!!!!!!!!!
